If you enjoyed the disputed 2000 election in real life, you get to experience it all over again by watching Recount, an HBO movie that will tell the story of intrigue among the butterfly ballots and hanging chads. The movie is now being filmed in Tallahassee, though some insiders sniff at the idea. "They won't be able to resist overdoing it," a former adviser to Katherine Harris told the Miami Herald.

Harris herself has the good fortune to be played by Laura Dern, who replicated Harris' appearance riding a horse—though that didn't actually occur until Harris' congressional campaign long after the election. The movie, due out early next year, also stars Kevin Spacey as Gore's chief of staff. One Florida extra, meanwhile, noted that she meant to vote for Bush but ended up voting for Gore by accident.
