A Virginia man who reportedly went overseas to fight with the Islamic State has been detained in Iraq, according to Kurdish reports cited by CBS News. The US embassy in Baghdad is trying to confirm that the man identified as 27-year-old Muhammad Jamal Amin showed up at a checkpoint near the town of Sinjar. It appears that Amin was attempting to defect from ISIS after fighting with the militants for a few months. Kurdish TV showed a Kurd commander questioning Amin, who presented various forms of ID to back up his claims of being an American. (More defectors stories.)
