(Newser) – The death of Cecil the lion at the hands of a Minnesota dentist caused international outrage in 2015. Now one of Cecil's offspring, 6-year-old Xanda, has been killed by a trophy hunter near the site of his father's demise, the Telegraph reports. The death of Xanda just outside the Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe was discovered because the lion was wearing an electronic tracking collar. Like his father, Xanda had wandered outside the protection of the park before he was killed. Due to that, as well as his age, Xanda's killing was "all within the stipulated regulations," according to a Hwange lion monitor. Cecil was loved by visitors to the park because he seemed to enjoy human contact. (Read more Cecil the lion stories.)
