But other conservatives are less understanding

Mike Huckabee’s a “standup guy,” and shouldn’t beat himself up for granting clemency to suspected cop killer Maurice Clemmons, Bill O’Reilly told him last night. “It’s not your fault, governor,” O’Reilly declared. “I mean, look, you’ve got 1,200 of these cases a year. You gotta look at them. … I don’t think anyone watching thinks it’s your fault.”

O’Reilly instead focused his rage on the judges who most recently allowed Clemmons to go free, by setting a mere $15,000 bail after his recent rape charges. But conservative bloggers haven’t been as forgiving. They’ve been drubbing Huckabee over the incident. “This disaster is just one of Huckabee’s ill-considered clemency legacies,” opined Michelle Malkin, while Erick Erickson of RedState blog marveled, “How many Willie Hortons can one man have?” (More Mike Huckabee stories.)
