A class action suit representing some of the 700 men deliberately infected with syphilis by the US government will be filed tomorrow unless the feds come up with an acceptable settlement, plaintiffs' lawyers warned. "We are outraged that such reprehensible research could have occurred under the guise of public health," said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a statement. "We deeply regret that it happened, and we apologize to all the individuals." Click for more on the horrifying 1940s study. (More Guatemala stories.)
