(Newser) – Might this turn into a major headache for AT&T? A customer in California has won a small-claims case against the company because it slowed the data service on his iPhone even though he had an "unlimited" plan, reports AP. A Simi Valley judge awarded Matt Spaccarelli $850, and the news service notes that AT&T has 17 million other customers at risk for similar data throttling. While AT&T blocks them from joining together in a class-action suit, this victory could set off a barrage of small-claims cases. WebProNews has background on the case. (Read more AT&T stories.)
