Here's some news that's less than exciting: The Scottish village of Dull is hoping to join forces with Boring, Oregon, in large part because it will result in amusing signage. It all started when a Scottish cyclist rode through Boring while on vacation; she mentioned her idea to a friend who lives in Dull, as well as an official from Boring. Now, the Oregon town's planners—members of the "Boring Community Planning Organization"—are set to hear a proposal in a few weeks, STV reports.

"It might seem like a joke, but this could have real benefits for Dull. Everyone has been smiling at the prospect of the very eye-catching road sign this will inevitably require," says a town councillor. Indeed, locals Tightwad, Missouri, launched the successful and cheeky Tightwad Bank, while Muff village in Ireland is home to the popular Muff Diving Club, the Guardian notes. The news follows a name debate in f---ing, Austria. (More Dull, Scotland stories.)
