Maine is seeking a court order to force nurse Kaci Hickox to remain in quarantine for Ebola, but the whole issue "could be resolved" with a simple blood test, Gov. Paul LePage told ABC News yesterday as Hickox was spotted out for a bike ride; her boyfriend later accepted a pizza delivered to their home, the Bangor Daily News reports. "She has been exposed and she's not cooperative, so force her to take a test. It's so simple," LePage said.
He noted yesterday that attorneys for the state were trying to secure a judge's permission to administer a test, though it isn't clear if the request will be approved or even if the virus would show up if present. Experts say the test will only come back positive for Ebola if a person is showing symptoms or if the virus has reached a detectable level. (Read more Maine stories.)
