(Newser) – Washington is fighting about everything—why not dirty words? On Saturday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed "Republican hypocrisy" amid outcry over a vulgarity uttered by her fellow congresswoman Thursday night, the Washington Post reports. Rep. Rashida Tlaib's remark that "we're gonna impeach the motherf---er" (guess who that's about) was still making waves when Ocasio-Cortez hit Twitter: "Republican hypocrisy at its finest: saying that Trump admitting to sexual assault on tape is just 'locker room talk,' but scandalizing themselves into faux-outrage when my sis says a curse word in a bar," she writes. "GOP lost entitlement to policing women's behavior a long time ago. Next." She later commented, "I got your back @RashidaTlaib—the Bronx and Detroit ride together."

House Democrats were upset by Tlaib's remark, which deviates from the official party line, while President Trump led the GOP charge by calling it "disgraceful": "I think she dishonored herself, and I think she dishonored her family," he told reporters, per Mediaite. "I thought it was highly disrespectful to the United States of America." House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy also derided "her language" and "what she says to her son in a rally," while Nancy Pelosi took a calmer stance, refusing to condemn: "What she said is less offensive than what President Trump said about John McCain," said Pelosi, per MSN. Meanwhile, Tlaib was unapologetic: "I know that if I was a man it might have been differently [sic]," she said, per CNN. "I know that, for me, I've always been this way." (Trump says he might call a national emergency.)
