In what has to be the first time a British leader used the word "dude" in a speech, incoming Prime Minister Boris Johnson employed it as a rallying cry Tuesday. "I say to all the doubters—'Dude, we are going to energize the country,'" Johnson told members of his Conservative Party after they chose him to replace Theresa May starting Wednesday. But this isn't any old "dude." This is DUDE, as in deliver, unite, defeat, and energize, per Sky News. More specifically, it's deliver Brexit by Oct. 31, unite the country, defeat Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, and energize the nation while doing all of the above. Johnson says he added the last letter because DUD wasn't a great campaign slogan, per CNN. (More Boris Johnson stories.)
