(Newser) – A suspicious package sent to Rand Paul's Kentucky home is being investigated by authorities, USA Today reports. The FBI is providing forensic and technical support to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, and the Capitol Police are also involved in the probe, Politico reports. The package allegedly contained white powder. "I take these threats immensely seriously. As a repeated target of violence, it is reprehensible that Twitter allows C-list celebrities to encourage violence against me and my family," Paul tweeted Monday, an apparent reference to singer Richard Marx tweeting Sunday that he'd like to buy Paul's neighbor, who assaulted him in 2017, a drink. The envelope containing the powder also contained a reference to the attack, promising to finish what Paul's neighbor started, Fox News reports. (Read more Rand Paul stories.)
