Michelle Obama spent the morning visiting a cancer center in London with Sarah Brown, the Guardian reports. The trip is the first in a number of engagements the first ladies will share—including a dinner for spouses of leaders tonight at 10 Downing Street, where Michelle will be seated next to JK Rowling.

Obama met with the chief executive of Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre before meeting a family in private and attending a group session for women living with cancer. "This is pretty incredible,” she said of the center. “This is pretty amazing, it's an oasis—an oasis that's necessary for people who are struggling. The building actualizes their journey in so many ways."
