A controversial statue of Barack Obama as a boy has been removed from a Jakarta park after an angry campaign to boot the homage to the American president. The bronze statue of a 10-year-old Barack is being moved nearby to the grounds of an affluent Indonesian school Obama attended. The statue was erected with funds from a US businessman in Jakarta and a private nonprofit group. Opponents said park space should be used for inspirational Indonesians. Obama's American mom married an Indonesian after divorcing his Kenyan father.
