President Obama commended New Yorkers today for not freaking out about the attempted Time Square bombing, and in a brief statement about the arrest of Faisal Shahzad, he promised to follow their example. Obama called the failed attack a “sobering reminder of the times in which we live” and said New Yorkers had “reminded us once again how to live with our heads held high.”

“We know the aim of those who try to carry out these attacks is to force us to live in fear, thereby amplifying the power of their attacks,” he said. “But as Americans and as a nation, we will not be terrorized. We will not cower in fear, we will not be intimidated. We will be vigilant. ... That's what I intend to do as president and that's what we'll do as a nation.” For more quotes, check CBS.
