Given than Vladimir Putin often releases glamor shots of himself shirtless, the image-conscious Russian PM probably should have expected the mini media frenzy he created when he showed up in Ukraine with an apparent black eye. His spokesman chalked it up to bad lighting, without much luck. "Ukrainian, Russian and Western journalists talked only of one thing—how did the Russian prime minister get a bruise under his eye?" wrote one Kremlin correspondent, as quoted by the BBC.

Putin seemed to have on makeup, which is rare, perhaps in an attempt to cover up, and he generally seemed to be in a lousy mood during the visit. AOL News rounds up some of the flying rumors, including a judo-sparring injury, plastic surgery, and even trouble at home. Click here for more.
