Dutch Giant 'Too Big for Jail'
The giant Dutchman's lawyer says the inhumanely small cell size violates his client's human rights.   (Shutter Stock)

A gargantuan Dutchman serving time for fraud is seeking early release because his cell just isn't big enough. The prisoner—who is 7 feet tall and weighs 500 pounds—says he can't sleep properly or use the cell's shower and toilet without extreme discomfort, the BBC reports. He is seeking to finish his sentence under house arrest. "My client just wants to serve a comparable sentence without pain," the leviathan's lawyer says, adding that the con must "sleep with one eye open in case he falls out of bed." He continues, "He is not obese. He is a giant. He even walks like a giant, like out of the comic books." (More Netherlands stories.)
