Rare Paul Revere Artifact Found in Book

A preservationist at Brown University stumbled upon a rare artifact while flipping through an old book—an engraved print created by Paul Revere. The print features Jesus and John the Baptist in the Jordan River, and Revere's name is located on the bottom, reports AP. (You can see it at Brown's website here.) Only five editions of the print are known to have been made.

The librarian found the print in a book published in 1811. The owner of the book graduated from Brown in 1773 and his descendants gifted the work back to the Rhode Island school. Revere may be famous for his midnight mission to notify colonists that the British were coming, but he also was a skilled engraver. (More Paul Revere stories.)
