Omar Suleiman, former vice president, spy chief, and trusted associate of deposed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, died early today in a US hospital after a sudden illness. "He was fine," an aide tells Reuters. "It came suddenly while he was having medical tests in Cleveland." No word yet on the cause of death for the 76-year-old, who made a failed bid for the presidency after Mubarak fell. His body will be brought home to be buried. (More Omar Suleiman stories.)
