"I love you and I missed you a lot. I welcome you into my life." Those were some of the first words David Amaya Barrick spoke to his mother, Kathy Amaya, in more than three decades. "I love you and I'm very happy to see you and I'm not going to let you go," she replied, in English—her only language, while her son speaks only Spanish. The two reunited at the San Diego airport yesterday for the first time since David's father took him across the border when he was about two years old and wouldn't return him, CNN reports. Kathy had been searching for him for decades when, in a strange twist of fate, David was arrested crossing the border and told Border Patrol he had actually been born in Chicago. The agents found his birth certificate, and his mom. Click for more of their story. (More reunion stories.)
