Pete Buttigieg, under pressure from Democratic rivals including Elizabeth Warren over transparency, has released a full work history from his time at McKinsey & Co. The South Bend, Ind., mayor's clients at the international consulting firm between 2007 and 2010 included Best Buy, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and the Canadian supermarket chain Loblaws, reports NBC. The list also includes the EPA, the Department of Energy, the Department of Defense, and the US Postal Service. "Now, voters can see for themselves that my work amounted to mostly research and analysis," Buttigieg said. "They can also see that I value both transparency and keeping my word. Neither of these qualities are something we see coming out of Washington, especially from this White House."

Buttigieg, who released the list after McKinsey granted permission, could face some "political blowback" over two of the clients, according to Politico. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan raised rates and cut 10% of its work force in 2009, though Buttigieg says his work for them two years earlier "largely involved on-the-job training to develop skills in the use of spreadsheets and presentation software" and he doubts it had any connection to the job cuts. He says his work for Loblaws—which made him realize he didn't want to work in consulting long-term—involved analyzing "the effects of price cuts on various combinations of items across hundreds of stores." At the time, the chain was involved in a Canada-wide price-fixing scheme. (More Pete Buttigieg 2020 stories.)
