  • Tech deals: Wired has a guide, and it includes the Google Pixel 4 phone for $449, or $350 off. On another front, the iRobot Roomba 692 vacuum is $200, or $120 off. Also, Amazon is discounting most of its own products, such as the Echo Dot 3rd Gen, which is $18.99, down from $49.99, per the guide at CNN. The Verge has a comprehensive look as well, including Samsung’s 15.6-inch Chromebook 4 for $240, down from $335.
  • What not to buy: MarketWatch doesn't think it makes sense to buy a TV, because they historically see bigger discounts around Black Friday. Furniture, toys, and winter clothing also are on its wait list.
  • Other sites: USA Today notes that Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Best Buy, Sam's Club, and Bed Bath & Beyond also are rolling out deals to compete with Amazon, so it may pay to shop around if you have a specific item in mind.
  • 10 best: Yahoo has a list of what it sees as the 10 best Prime Day deals, and not all are big-ticket items. It includes the LifeStraw Personal Water Filter, half off at $10. The straw makes water from streams, lakes, etc., safer to drink. It also likes the Blink Mini HD security cam for $25, down from $35.
  • Instant Pots: The New York Post likes the deals on Instant Pots. The Ultra 3 Qt 10-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker is $49.99, down from $119.95.
