It's becoming a more common question among buyers: "Dude, where's my Cybertruck?" The Wall Street Journal reports that buyers say Tesla has pushed back the delivery date for their electric trucks without explanation. One buyer in Birmingham, Alabama says he was supposed to pick up his Cybertruck on April 13 but received a text message from Tesla saying, "We have just been informed of an unexpected delay regarding the preparation of your vehicle." In a later message seen by the Journal, he was told: "It appears they need at least until April 20th to correct the issue, but it could be potentially longer than that. Tesla is working on getting improved parts to all affected locations asap."

Tesla hasn't explained the delays, though in the Cybertruck Owners Club forum, some buyers have said there was an issue with the accelerator pedal, the Verge reports. In a post on TikTok, one Cybertruck owner said his accelerator pedal cover became stuck and "held the accelerator down 100%, full throttle." The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday that it is aware of the issue and is trying to get more information from Tesla, the Journal reports. Other Cybertruck owners have reported unexplained breakdowns. With EV sales slowing, Tesla announced Monday that it is laying off 10% of its global workforce. (More Cybertruck stories.)
