Chicago police took a man into custody today in the shooting deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. No charges have been filed against William Balfour, 27, who was involved with a member of the Hudson family and had lived with Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson. Balfour was paroled 2 years ago after committing attempted murder and other crimes.

Police are still seeking Hudson's nephew, 7-year-old Julian King, who went missing today. Donerson's South Side neighbors heard gunfire early this morning, but police were not alerted until a family member found Donerson and Hudson's brother, Jason Hudson, dead in the home. Hudson's publicist said the Oscar award-winning actress is with her family and asks "that their privacy be respected at this time."
