An innocent-looking 13-year-old girl calmly burbled the C-word—twice—on national TV yesterday without missing a beat. "We just have to be careful with our language, but that's all right, sweetheart," says the all- forgiving Meredith Vieira on the Today Show. "Oh, sorry," says Kayla Manson. The Florida teen is accused of being an accomplice in her boyfriend's alleged attempt to murder her best friend. She was discussing what her boyfriend texted to her friend.

Vieira later apologized to the audience. "I just want to apologize to our audience for some of the rough language ," she said. "It's really not Kayla's fault. I asked her about the text message, and she was giving me verbatim. She didn't know there are certain words you can't say on television." It was deja vu for Vieira, who had to apologize when Jane Fonda used the same word two years ago while plugging the Vagina Monologues.
