Mike Castle lashed out at the conservative media yesterday, blaming it in part for his loss to Christine O’Donnell. “I hope journalists check their facts,” the Delaware Republican said in an interview with Fox News. “I think the misrepresentations and the lies of Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh on the air were another very significant part of all of this.”

Hannity played the clip yesterday while interviewing O’Donnell, saying, “He sounds like a liberal, blaming other people!” O’Donnell said the hosts had played a role—“I wouldn’t call it blame, I would call it credit,” she said. Castle has indeed been a punching bag for Limbaugh and company lately, the Huffington Post reports. Conservative outlets have brimmed with erroneous reports that he voted for health care reform, the stimulus, and the impeachment of President Bush. (More Mike Castle stories.)
