Yes Nate Silver: Alaska senator has a decent chance By John Johnson Posted Sep 18, 2010 11:36 AM CDT Copied Senator Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, announces her write-in campaign Friday in Anchorage. (AP Photo/Michael Dinneen) Lisa Murkowski's decision to try to keep her Senate seat in Alaska via a write-in campaign begs the question: Can she win? "Sure she can," writes Nate Silver at his FiveThirtyEight blog in the New York Times. "So Ms. Murkowski should be a contender," writes Silver. "She is perhaps not the favorite in the race—and polls which are not conducted thoughtfully might overestimate her standing. But an Election Day already full of exciting and unusual races just added another one." Earlier coverage of Murkowski here. Read These Next Patrick Dempsey, Shonda Rhimes pay tribute to Eric Dane.
