New Hygiene Ad: 'WikiLeaks, Butterfly Doesn't'
A billboard for Butterfly's unique new ad campaign is seen in Pakistan. This image has spread virally around the Internet.   (RG Blue)

Images of a new sanitary pad billboard have been flying around the Internet, with bloggers smirking at its topical slogan. “WikiLeaks,” it reads, “Butterfly Doesn’t.” It’s the type of edgy, funny campaign you’d expect out of Madison Avenue, but the ad is actually the brainchild of a small Pakistani firm called RG Blue Communications, and it’s so far limited just to Karachi.

So far the response to the ad has been very strong, the firm tells The Express Tribune. “Nobody has said it’s in bad taste yet!” the head of business development said with a laugh. The agency’s art director says she’s been overwhelmed with calls about the ad. “I could have also shown a girl like other ads,” she said. “But the idea was to make it very different.” (More Pakistan stories.)
