Fearing a sexual assault in India, a British tourist jumped out of her hotel window, tearing a ligament in her leg, the Telegraph reports. She was staying in a budget hotel when its manager and a security guard allegedly knocked on her door at 4am. The manager tried to get in using a key, says a police officer. The woman, 32, "got frightened so she ran to the other end of the room and jumped out of the window," the officer tells AFP. She was, fortunately, on the hotel's first floor.

After the woman had asked about a massage the day before, the manager insisted on providing it; the woman refused. Police say the manager and security guard have been arrested for harassment, or "eve-teasing," as it is locally called. They say they were waking the woman so she could catch an early train. The woman's injury isn't serious, the officer says: "She has left hospital and we have moved her to another hotel while she decides her future travel plans. She is safe but is very scared after the incident." It follows the gang-rape of a Swiss tourist in India. (More India stories.)
