Bowe Bergdahl, who was captured by the Taliban in June 2009 and is the only US soldier currently held in captivity. The "proof of life" video, found on a thumb drive the US obtained last week, is the first glimpse of Bergdahl in three years. In it, he appears "frail" and "shaky," NBC News reports. He makes a reference to Nelson Mandela's death, signalling the video is recent. Bergdahl's health appears to have deteriorated since the last video, from February 2011, a military official tells CNN. "Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has been gone far too long, and we continue to call for and work toward his safe and immediate release," a Pentagon spokesman said, promising that the US is working on the issue on a "daily basis." The military believes the Haqqani Network has him in Pakistan. For more on the case's history, click here. Read These Next One critical island in Iran has remained unscathed in airstrikes.
