Three managers at a Lowe's store in Virginia have lost their jobs after going along with a customer's request that no black drivers make deliveries to her home, a company spokesperson said today. Driver Marcus Bradley told WSET-TV he was called off an Aug. 3 delivery by a store manager in Danville because he was black and the customer didn't want him at her home. Bradley returned to the store and was replaced with a white driver.

While the Lowe's spokesperson said the company reacted swiftly when it heard about the situation, he wouldn't name the managers or specify whether they resigned or were fired. A Lowe's executive traveled to the store to apologize to Bradley, who had the support of at least one co-worker. Alex Brooks, who is white, refused to participate in the delivery after Bradley was recalled, telling WSET, "To me, it just ain't right for a business that we work at to go along with the woman's wishes."
