Dawn Wells, better known as Mary Ann on Gilligan’s Island, has ducked a dope charge but will serve 6 months' probation for reckless driving, the AP reports. A sheriff's deputy pulled her over in Teton County, Idaho last year and smelled marijuana in the car; the former actress failed a sobriety test, but avoided a drug charge by pleading guilty to reckless driving.

Wells, 69, was on her way home from a surprise birthday party last October when she was pulled over. The deputy searched the car and found half-smoked joints, which Wells said were left behind by hitchhikers. She paid a $410 fine and spent 5 days in jail, but a friend later testified that he had left the grass in her car and that she left the party sober. (More Dawn Wells stories.)
