Dow Falls 23 Before Fed Meeting

Stocks are closing mostly lower as traders look ahead to a busy week of corporate earnings and a Federal Reserve meeting. Xerox slumped 3% Monday after its quarterly revenue missed analysts' estimates. The company said it would review its business and spending plans. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 23 points, or 0.1%, to 17,623. The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell four points, or 0.2%, to 2,071. The Nasdaq composite inched up two points, or 0.1%, to 5,030. Bond prices rose. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to 2.06%. (Read more financial stocks stories.)
