(Newser) – Raise your spoons: Ben & Jerry's now has non-dairy ice cream after years of being asked to make it. The Vermont ice cream maker has created four flavors using a certified vegan almond milk base, all of them available in pints, the AP reports. Available are the classic Chunky Monkey and Chocolate Fudge Brownie flavors, plus a couple of new ones: Coffee Caramel Fudge and PB and Cookies (a vanilla non-dairy frozen dessert with chocolate sandwich cookies and crunchy peanut butter swirls). According to the Ben & Jerry's website, the flavors are all completely vegan and use non-GMO ingredients.

"Some of you are committed to a vegan lifestyle, while others can't or would rather not eat dairy," the website states. "And all of you are missing the indulgent frozen delights you once enjoyed. We knew that with some hard work and experimentation we could deliver the taste and creamy texture you've been craving. So we did." The website adds that the almond milk base is "so rich & creamy that while digging into a pint you will constantly have to remind yourself that it’s non-dairy." (Read more Ben and Jerry's stories.)
