Fake Passenger, With Briefcase, Doesn't Fool Carpool Police

The briefcase and baseball cap were nice touches on her supposed passenger, but they weren't enough to keep a Long Island woman from getting a ticket for a carpool lane violation. Police in Suffolk County say Candice Breen-Warren, 61, arranged a bunch of clothes in the passenger seat—adorned with said hat and briefcase—to make it look like she had someone sitting next to her, reports CBS New York. She then took advantage of the high-occupancy vehicle lane, only to be pulled over by a cop who spotted the ruse. Police took photos and shared them, so at least she has a good story to tell. (More weird crimes stories.)
