A stranger's kind gesture on Chicago's rapid-transit system is making headlines. Maurice Anderson gave his $260 boots, along with a pair of socks, to a homeless man sitting near him on a train, reports ABC 7. The act might have gone unnoticed had not fellow passenger Jessica Bell been so moved by it that she took photos and posted the story on Facebook. "It was a really selfless and quiet act, no fanfare," she says. "It just happened." Anderson said afterward that he had struck up a conversation with the homeless man when it emerged that the man's feet might be frostbitten. "I asked him what size shoe did he wear. He was like, a 12. I myself was a 12, so I said here you go." (More Good Samaritan stories.)
