(Newser) – Nancy Pelosi says the State of the Union address still isn't happening Tuesday, regardless of the government shutdown being on hold. "It's not happening on 1/29," a spokesman for Pelosi tells USA Today. A deal was reached Friday for the federal government to be reopened for three weeks, but Pelosi told reporters that SOTU is still a work in progress. "The State of the Union is not planned now," said Pelosi on Friday, per CNN. "What I said to the President is when the government is open we will discuss a mutually agreeable date, and I'll look forward to doing that." Pelosi had told President Trump that the State of the Union address would be postponed due to the shutdown. (It seems Trump "blinked first" in the SOTU standoff.)
