A little wine with dinner can make women smarter and even help them stave off dementia, the Daily Telegraph reports. Scottish scientists served up vino for thousands of subjects aged 70 to 84, and found women who drank up to a glass a day performed better on mental tests. Men fared about the same. The study concluded that a daily drink can delay mental decline in women.

"This is not an endorsement to drink to excess—large amounts of alcohol will damage your brain—but the occasional tipple may do you some good," said an author of the study.
