The US delegation walked out of the UN speech of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad today after he yet again speculated that the US staged the 9/11 attacks to boost the economy and save the "Zionist regime" of Israel. Ahmadinejad has "chosen to spout vile conspiracy theories and anti-Semitic slurs that are as abhorrent and delusional as they are predictable," said spokesman for the US Mission to the world body.

Ahmadinejad also criticized the Security Council for equating "nuclear energy with nuclear bombs" and addressed the recent near Koran-burning in the US, along with the scattered copycats who actually went through with it: "Very recently the world witnessed the ugly and inhumane act of burning the holy Koran," he said, in comments sure to play well in the Muslim world.
