Mark Madoff might not have wanted his notorious father at his funeral anyway, but Bernie Madoff will likely be barred from attending, the New York Post reports. The North Carolina prison’s Inmate Handbook says prisoners can have supervised furloughs for immediate family members’ funerals only if they’ve got two years or less of their terms remaining; Madoff has considerably more than two years remaining on his 150-year sentence. Further, he “could be a target,” said an expert.

Mark Madoff was found dead yesterday; a lawyer says his suicide left his mother, Ruth, “heartbroken." Mark hadn't spoken with either his parents in the two years since the scandal broke; click for more on how his dad's actions affected him.
