New Blood Test Could Sniff Out Single Cancer Cell

Johnson and Johnson today touted a new experimental blood test that they believe could find even a single cancer cell lurking in the bloodstream. Two Johnson and Johnson companies are teaming up with Massachusetts General Hospital to develop and market the test, which searches out cells that have detached from their tumors and are circulating through the bloodstream, CNN reports. The test is easy-to-administer and non-invasive, one executive boasted, and could help doctors discover if a cancer has spread and select treatments for patients. (More cancer stories.)
