Infant Killed by Morphine in Mom's Breast Milk: Cops
Stephanie Greene's morphine addiction was the reason for her baby's death in 2010, as morphine in her breast milk killed the 6-week-old infant, according to police.   (Spartanburg Detention Center)

A South Carolina mother has been charged with killing her 6-week-old baby with drug-tainted breast milk. Stephanie Greene, 37, allegedly had so much morphine in her system that her daughter overdosed, reports the New York Daily News. Greene began using Fentanyl and Hydrocodon in 2009, cops say, and had moved on to morphine by the time the child was born last year. She now faces a charge of homicide by child abuse or neglect, and more than three dozen drug-related charges. (More prescription drugs stories.)
