Angela Merkel's posterior is making headlines this morning after she suffered "severe bruising linked with a partial fracture on the left, rear part of the pelvis" after a "low speed" cross-country skiing accident while on holiday in Switzerland, a spokesman said, per the BBC and the AP. The German chancellor is now largely on bed rest and out of commission for three weeks and has cancelled several visits, including a trip to Poland this week. She will, however, run a Cabinet meeting as scheduled on Wednesday—with the help of crutches. (Read more Angela Merkel stories.)
