If you buy your Velveeta at Walmart, read on: Kraft is recalling some 260 cases of the cheese product sent to Walmart stores because overly low levels of a preservative—that would be sorbic acid—could lead to spoiling and food-borne illness, the AP reports. The cases were shipped to three Walmart distribution centers, which may have sent the cheese product to as many as 12 states, mostly in the Midwest. The 3,120 boxes of "original" flavor Velveeta are marked 021000611614, NBC News notes, with a date stamp reading "17 DEC 2014" between times 10:54 and 14:35. (More Velveeta stories.)
