An 18-year-old died Monday night in Ohio after suffering a gunshot wound to the head. Now, Whitehall police have determined that Rashaun D. McCrae was killed after suggesting a game of Russian roulette—and pulling the trigger. Police spent the week making sure witness stories synced up, the Columbus Dispatch reports. One friend says McCrae entered the kitchen he was in and asked if he wanted to play; the friend declined and says he exited the room and then heard the shot. Per the police report, two friends actually witnessed it: McCrae "showed them [the gun] was loaded with one round and spun the cylinder three times. He said something to the effect of, ‘Have you ever played Russian roulette?’, held the revolver to his head and fired.”

FOX28 previously reported that a party was under way in the home, and that roughly 15 people were running out of the home as police arrived. The Dispatch describes a frenetic scene via a 911 call: "There’s a lot of people, and they all know each other," said the caller. "There was marijuana smoke in the house. I did see one revolver in the house." The police report similarly noted that the kitchen smelled of "burnt and raw marijuana." (More Russian roulette stories.)
