If you're female and not doing anything special from Feb. 16 to March 3 and wouldn't mind going on vacation with a total stranger in the Dominican Republic, John Whitbread's waiting for you on eBay. After being dumped by his girlfriend a few weeks before their wedding, the 32-year-old UK man decided he didn't want to "mope forever" and let the money he had put down for his honeymoon "go to waste"—so he put his ex's half of the $3,000 luxury vacation up for auction, with the caveat that he'll be coming along, the Telegraph reports. As of this afternoon, there were 89 bidders, with a high bid of nearly $8,000 for the all-inclusive two-week vacation at a posh hotel. If he makes more than $1,600 off the sale, he'll donate the rest to a testicular cancer charity, he says.

Whitbread's eBay post calls his offer the "adventure of a lifetime" and describes himself as "dark hair, slim build … with a good sense of humor"; if you're worried he'll be a drip to pseudo-honeymoon with, he adds that "I smoke, I drink, and damn have I got some sharp moves on that dance floor!" He also assures potential bidders that he's "got no criminal record although sometimes I should be locked away for my snoring." He claims that he's not looking for romance, just a "bit of a laugh" (though the auction is only open to women) and that he plans on sleeping on the couch in the honeymoon suite. His former fiancee, Amy Jackson, says, "Fair play to John. I'm pleased that he's doing something positive," per the Daily Mail. (Maybe he's related to the guy who asked a stranger to travel around the world with him.)
