Soldiers from Bravo Company, 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division search farmland for clues ten days after a May 12 attack that left four U.S. soldiers and an Iraqi soldier dead and three comrades missing in Quarghuli village, near Youssifiyah, 12 miles (20 kilometers)...   (Associated Press)

(Newser) – Iraqi police found the body of a man dressed in a U.S. military uniform in the Euphrates river today. A soldier from the unit that lost three soldiers earlier in the month is en route to see if he can identify the body. If the body belongs to one of the missing soldiers, his family will be notified before any public announcement is made.

The body was found in Mussayab -- about 22 miles south of Mahmoudiya, where the original attack took place that led to the disappearance of the three soldiers, in an area dubbed the Triangle of Death. Military commanders believe at least two of the soldiers are alive, and being held by an al-Quaeda affiliated group. (Read more Iraq stories.)
