(Newser) – The special counsel's Russia investigation is wrapping up after nearly two years. Sources tell CNN the Justice Department is preparing for Robert Mueller's report to come in as early as next week, after which Attorney General Bill Barr will submit a summary of the confidential report to Congress. It's not yet clear how extensive Barr's submission to Congress will be, nor how long it will take for the department to prepare the summary. Neither the DoJ nor Mueller's office commented on the report, which came on the same day NBC and Fox published similar news, but Vox notes some "Mueller watchers" are skeptical of the new reports. Trump said Wednesday it's "totally up to" Barr whether to submit the report to Congress while the POTUS is in Vietnam next week. (The acting AG said last month the probe was "close to being completed.")
