Video game sales remain strong despite the flagging economy, reports USA Today. Nintendo Wii had its biggest month ever in November, selling more than 2 million systems, twice what the company sold last November. Microsoft Xbox 360 also had a strong month with best-selling games Gears of War 2, and Call of Duty: World at War.

A key factor in rocketing sales was Nintendo's ability to keep up with demand. "I'm surprised that Nintendo was able to supply at that rate, and surprised that demand was that high," said an industry analyst. The newer-generation console systems, including Playstation 3, all "have something to brag about," said a market researcher. Wii has sold a total of 15.4 million systems since it was created.
