David Paterson is dropping his bid for re-election as governor of New York after revelations of his and his administration’s conduct surrounding an aide's domestic violence case, an insider tells the New York Daily News. The governor, who still plans to serve out his term, is expected to announce the move later today. With Paterson out of the way, observers see a clear path to the Democratic nomination for Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. (More David Paterson stories.)
