Look out, Sarah Palin: There’s a new force vying for the GOP presidential nomination, and he is powered by the blood of others. Meet Jonathon “the Impaler” Sharkey, a 45-year-old Floridian and self-proclaimed descendant of Vlad II the Impaler, who yesterday announced that he was filing papers to run for president as a Republican. His only potential problems? He’s been accused of harassing various teenage girls, and has been arrested in multiple states for other offenses.

Sharkey openly boasts about his teenage conquests—including his new 19-year-old fiancee, who he met online. “I haven’t dated a girl older than 19 since 2006,” he tells 10 Connects. “It’s good to be me.” He boasts a semblance of a political background, as a former Executive Committee member of the Hillsborough Co. Republican Party. “He does believe in Republican values,” confirmed one committeeman. “Is he going to make a big splash with his current identification of being a vampire? That's up to the voters to decide.” (More Election 2012 stories.)
